BandInPad privacy policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

The short version. BandInPad collects nothing. It has no account, no server and no analytics. It never sends your data anywhere. There is no data for us to see, sell or lose, because none of it ever reaches us.

What we collect

Nothing. BandInPad has no sign-up, no login and no user profile. We do not receive your name, your email address, your device identifiers, your location, your usage statistics, your crash reports or your audio.

There is no advertising in BandInPad, no advertising identifier is read, and no third-party analytics or tracking library is built into the app.

What stays on your device

BandInPad stores the following on the device itself, and nowhere else:

This data lives in the app's own storage on your device. It is included in your own device backups if you have those switched on, and it is deleted when you delete the app. We have no copy of it.

The local network

BandInPad can mirror lyrics and chords to other devices in your band running BandInPad Mirror. This happens over your own Wi-Fi network or phone hotspot, directly between your devices.

This is why the app asks for local network permission the first time you use that feature. The traffic never leaves your network and never passes through any server of ours, because there is no server. With the MIRROR button switched off, nothing is sent at all.

MIDI and audio hardware

BandInPad sends MIDI to keyboards and audio to the interface you select, through the standard interfaces provided by your operating system. Nothing is recorded or transmitted elsewhere.

Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy
Local network To mirror lyrics and chords to the band's other devices on your own Wi-Fi or hotspot.

That is the only one. BandInPad does not request access to your location, your contacts, your photos, your camera or your microphone.

Children

BandInPad is a tool for performing musicians. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold none: there is nothing for us to send you and nothing for us to erase. The data in the app is yours, on your device, under your control.

If you write to us for support, we will of course have whatever you put in that email. We use it to answer you and nothing else.

Changes to this policy

If BandInPad ever starts sending data anywhere, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
